ECM Synchronika will be 4 years old this fall. Any maintanence I should be doing?
I would definitely advise you to displace the water in the steam boiler with fresh water a few times. If scale has been building, it may very well be on the autofill level probe. Use the hot water tap and check if the autofill of the steam boiler works properly. If the probe has scaled up, the steam...

Bezzera BZ10 - Water in brew pressure capillary tube
In my case, it was merely clogging rather than a sealing issue. Because of the clogging the gauge became non-responsive. The capiliary had to be purged with pressurised air and remaining residue had to be torched out. After two of these cycles the capiliary was replaced during servicing the machine....

Bezzera BZ10 - Water in brew pressure capillary tube
I think it will be a sealing issue. I had problems with the same capiliary getting clogged with coffee residue, because it sits at the lower leg of the T piece that you are referring to

Possible OPV (?) problem in Bezzera BZ07
The valve that releases the pressure into the drip tray at the end of each extraction or each backflush cycle is the solenoid valve (not the OPV). Your observation during backflushing suggests that it is defect or blocked. What I find strange though is that the pressure has been sitting at 0 at each...

Backflushing espresso machine frequency
I was advised by the service tech that looks after my machine to drop the shower screen and the dispersion plate and clean both of them in the sink BEFORE backflushing. Else with every backflush pump cycle you will be merely moving the coffee fines that have ended up in the brew group around. I use ...

Eureka Mignon Specialitá - Grinding Too Close to 'Zero' for Espresso. Need Advice!
For what it's worth, I own a Compak K3 Touch, which with its limitations is a very different grinder with a very different grind adjustment system, but from day one of ownership, I found that the grind settings were very close to the burr chirping point. With some coffees I had to go past the mark o...

Dual boiler espresso machine under low cabinets
The Xenia can be customized with a reservoir that is removable from the side. It is available with many options, even the choice between HX and DB, that you can select through the very elaborate website when you order. However, according to the web site, the height is 39 cm max, which just exceeds t...

How do you know when to stop stretching milk?
You're not alone, don't worry. How do you position the wand? I found that 1) inserting it into the milk off-centre for me made a big difference in increasing consistency. Try to get that swirling motion from the start and then feel the pitcher wall with your free hand. Ouch! = stop immediately. 2) t...

Lelit Elizabeth Owner Experience
Just a generic explanation of Kp, Ki and Kd in a PID alrorithm with interpretation how they affect the heating of the boiler of an espressomachine. KP refers to proportional response of the PID control. If the temperature of the boiler suddenly drops by 1 degree below the set point, then the heat du...
