Steam Tip Dial, Cheap
I had tried the steam dial on my Cremina and Lambro many years ago. I didn't like it on both machines and replaced it with the Sproline Foam Knife which is called Magic Tip now on the Rakuten (Japansese) website

User experience with Timemore Sculptor Grinders 078 078s
Because the hopper is not sloped enough. Even I modified the hopper, the beans still didn't went smooth. But I am not sure if the feeding rate is the root cause of the unstable shot times

User experience with Timemore Sculptor Grinders 078 078s
I tried almost everything I can except slow feeding. I poured all the beans at a time, RDT and without RDT, cold loading and warm loading when the rpm was steady. I also modified the hopper. No effect

User experience with Timemore Sculptor Grinders 078 078s
I had a 078S but sold it because of consistency issues. I didn't have any channeling issue, but the shot times varied from 22 to 40 seconds for the same beans, weight, and brew ratio. It seems to relation to the beans feeding rate, but I cannot control it. I poured the beans the same way. When the b...

The new DF83v
It is all about the bean size. I checked 3 MC4 by removing the inner burr and then start the grinder and then pour the beans (Ethiopia). But I think this method is meaningless because when the grinder works in the normal situation, the space between the pre-breaker and the burrs is full of beans so ...

The new DF83v
Interesting. I hope Timemore 078S really doesn't have the prebreaker. It causes severe popcorning when I pour the beans. The Kafatek MC4/5/6 also doesn't have the prebreaker. If you remove the inner cone burr, you can see that about 50% coffee beans remain whole beans

The new DF83v
But the auger of Timemore Sculptor 078S is indeed the prebreaker. The beans go to the top left corner and are crushed. {image}

Ditting 807F w/ Lab Sweet Burrs: Greater alignment... worse tasting coffee?
I use 804LS and have the same experience as yours. It's interesting that the flapper affects the grinding result on the 807LS. The 804LS does not have the flapper and the grinding chamber is much bigger than it of the 807LS, but my 804LS can choke the espresso machine easily
