Izzo Alex Duetto 3 not turning on

Hi all, I thought I'd share my experience with my Alex Duetto 3 not turning on anymore. The issue: the machine simply didn't turn anymore. Even the red led in the power button itself didn't light up. Totally dead. The fix: after opening the machine I found a bad contact in the plastic connector that...

Espresso Drip Tray Scale

I'm also looking for a new drip tray scale. I've got a simple cheap one I use for weighing my beans, but would like something waterproof for on the drip tray. What the Acaia and Brewista scales add in terms of functionality is mainly the shot timer, right? That seems useful, although I'm not sure ho...

Help! Ran Gaggia Classic briefly with no water

I'm not sure if I fully understand your description of what seems to be wrong. If (on my Gaggia Classic) I open the steam valve at the normal brewing temperature and engage the pump, it will run water through the brew head and steam wand. Only when switching the thermostat to steaming, it will block...

Descale Update for Gaggia's Aluminium Boiler?

I've tried to stick to Gaggia products as much as possible, assuming that they wouldn't harm the aluminium of the boiler. Enter "Gaggia" and "descaler" in amazon and you'll find a liquid or perhaps tablets/powder that should do the trick. I'd be interested in hearing about alternatives as well thoug...

GACK! Can't stop spritzing!

Are you experiencing the same issues with another grinder (I assume you had another grinder before getting the HG One)? For how long have you had the HG One? I'm asking because some users (including myself) seem to have had some issues with distribution and channeling/spritzing until the burrs are b...

Help! Weak steam from Gaggia.

I'm not entirely sure and have no experience with the Gaggia Baby Class (I own a Classic myself) but from what you describe it sounds as if the boiler runs out of steam and then needs a while to heat up again. What works on the Classic is to start steaming just before the temperature light comes on....

Owner experience with HG one grinder

True, you mentioned this John and I do recall reading your comments. However, I also remember that you noticed burr rub in the normal grinding range, correct? I assumed that what you described was a much clearer case of misalignment than what I was seeing (or rather hearing) in my grinder, especiall...

Owner experience with HG one grinder

Hello all, I've been reading this forum and topic for quite some while but haven't posted before. It's been great reading about your experiences and tips and tricks so far, thanks. I own a HG-One with TIN coated 83mm burrs, which is my first upgrade to some more serious coffee gear. I pull my shots ...
