Backflush on a La Pavoni Europiccola

I should have clarified which machines we were talking about as we have three generations of Pavoni's out there and even pressurestats on gen 2 professionals so it gets confusing fast. My experience has been largely with gen 1's and gen 2's two switch machines. Since the relief valve can be spurting...

Backflush on a La Pavoni Europiccola

Likely a difference between a 2 switch and a pressure stat machine too. When a 2 switch is on high, its venting out the overflow, I assume if the lever is up and open it could siphon out that way. (Note I have not ventured through the flow diagrams, don't have time for that). Could siphon in a

Backflush on a La Pavoni Europiccola

Well, it does happen, you can search for threads here. Depends if you never fiddle with the lever at the top to bump the air out versus the late lock in. But I have seen it, depends who is running the machine, everyones style is different

Backflush on a La Pavoni Europiccola

Just dump out the water every few days. I have had it siphon on occasion, I use a aeropress filter, fits nicely on a 49mm portafilter. I am sure some could taste the filter or its "just wrong" but it works for me, stops the fines from siphoning in

Groups on gen 1 and la cara /graziella hot water heated?

Answering my own question, it appears the Graziella is water heated, it is not open to the group. "La Cara/ La Graziella Rebuild" Correct me if I am mistaken, need to look at the cara

Groups on gen 1 and la cara /graziella hot water heated?

Quick question on gen 1 pavoni and la cara/la graziella brass sleeve groups. Are they hot water heated or steam? I Know the gen two Pavoni have hot water modifications available. Did I forget that gen 1s are hot water heated or is the brass sleeve enough of a sink to stabilize temps? Thanks {image}

Consistently getting sediment in flushes of my La Pavoni Pro

I'll punt to homeburrero As I would clean it off, never seen that in my herd I had. Some steel wool is what I would do, barkeepers. But I'll defer as not the best chemist. Glad you found the source!

Consistently getting sediment in flushes of my La Pavoni Pro

You a going to deep down the rabbit hole. You could have scale in the sight glass fittings, but a descale would likely clean it out. Use a good brush inside the sight glass bottom fitting, see what comes out, but a descale of 50/50 vinegar and water or a proper citric acid solution should have taken...

Consistently getting sediment in flushes of my La Pavoni Pro

Stefanos is in elmira, or. Absent that, if you took of the pressurestat its three bolts for the element. You cannot see very well the scale on the element, it does look like there is buildup on the base of the element from the picture, it is not clear enough to see the entire element base.
