Arizona Meet-ups
Hi Guys, I'm in central Phoenix, fully vaccinated and open to distanced meetup. A little less central, but I do think Spencer at Peixoto down in Chandler, is probably the most talented roaster in the state. There's also a newer shop down there called Mythical, as well as another newer shop operating...

Comparing the KafaTek Flat MAX, Versalab M4, and Niche Zero
Thanks @quester for this nice comparison. How often do you change shot profiles and when doing so, do you change grinders? Or have you found certain profiles suit the Max vs the M4, for example, or are there limitations at extremes of profiles (extended PI, blooming, etc.)? What's always intrigued m...

Versalab M4 vs. Monolith Flats
@dumpshot and I have done several taste tests with the M3/M4 and his original Flat with both the original burrs and the SSP burrs. We usually do as blind as reasonably possible test and mark cups and hand them to each other without looking. I can usually tell the Flat when sipping side by side, it u...

Versalab M3/M4 - Do you really not need WDT or RDT?
What mods are you referring to when you say mods you "need to do", specifically with the M4?

Versalab M3/M4 - Do you really not need WDT or RDT?
The M4 addresses every single one of those issues you mention. I typically use very light (by US standards) single origins, no rdt, no wdt, no manipulation of the grounds. This is the workflow I've been using for over a year with 1-2 different coffees each week without issue: {link} Pulsing the grin...

Presta Coffee Roasters in Tucson AZ
There are several shops in the valley that sell Presta too, you can probably message them and find out exactly who, since it seems to rotate from time to time

Is there a grinder which eliminates WDT?
I use the Versalab M4 and do not use any funnels, RDT, WDT, leveling tools, just grind, a few settling taps, tamp, and pull. I found WDT to often make the shots worse/more variable, and the M4 upgrades eliminated the belt slipping issues of old. The Versalab youtube page has several video of the wor...

Anyone pull Counter Culture Apollo recently
I'm working through a bag right now, and I feel like I got pretty close this morning: 18.0 grams in an 18g VST : 45.1g out - 10s at 2.5bar (my line pressure) > 33s 8bar > 3-4s back at line pressure, using 200*F water. This shot still had plenty of body and big, rich, but

Versalab M4
After using the M4 for daily use over the last three months with a variety of coffees, most lighter roasted single origins, my final thoughts and additional findings are posted here: {link} It is very much a follow up to the initial review also posted in this thread and linked here: {link} I'm posti...
