[SOLD] Kafatek Monolith MC4 - TiN Burrs
For sale is a recently purchased Kafatek Monolith MC4 with TiN Burrs and Wenge Wood Cap. I received the grinder on December 9th, seasoned with 5 lbs of coffee and put an additional 2 lbs through it (approx.) drinking 2-3 daily espressos over the past 3 weeks. I'm selling because I already own one of...

Advice on potential purchase of Londinium
Do you know the age? I know $1000 is a lot of money, but a brand new Londinium R which is also (arguably) a better machine given the updates (cold fed with adjustable/higher pre-infusion with a rotary pump) is $2900 My personal 2 cents, given age and design improvements, I would get a Londinium R in...

Londinium R vs Quickmill Achille for Italian Roasts
As a couple others have mentioned, I also have no issues pulling medium to medium dark roasts with my LR with 3 bar PI pressure. Just preinfusion for less time. In general, it's a very forgiving machine

Why the Espresso Machine Is the Most Important Equipment
Probably repeating what others have said above, but echo the thoughts that grinder is most important (IMHO) I think where your analysis fails is assuming inconsistencies in machine (eg brew temp etc) have an equal or greater impact on the espresso quality than inconsistent and or poor grind quality,...

Consistently Great Commercial Coffee
100% agree after just recently realizing how consistent Klatch was (my go to is Bella) compared to a few others I orde from. With Klatch I don't recall getting a 5lb batch that I felt was off, which doesn't happen with some of the other roasters

Help me decide - Izzo Alex Duetto IV Plus or Quickmill Vetrano 2B or something else
To answer the "something else" I would suggest the Londinium R if you have the space and willingness to venture into commercial lever territory. "Comparison: Londinium R and Izzo Alex Duetto III" I detailed my experiences between the Duetto and Londinium in the above, but in summary, related to your...

BT Wedge
I believe the Push is an adjustable depth tamper (unless they also make a distribution toolI use the clover style distribution tool that came with the Monolith and don't tamp. I see no difference in end result, though I feel the spring lever is much more foregiving to prep compared to my Duetto

Want to upgrade Breville Dual Boiler to a Londinium R or Profitec 800 - worth it?
I felt the exact same way when comparing my Duetto III to the Londinium R on paper, going from a machine where I had a lot of control on temp to one with less control. From my experience using them side by side for a couple months, I experienced an upgrade in taste and consistency with the Londinium...

Want to upgrade Breville Dual Boiler to a Londinium R or Profitec 800 - worth it?
Yes. I have a Londinium R and LOVE IT (I'm sure i would love the Pro 800 also) Consistency and ease of good results far surpasses my old Duetto III. I can't imagine anyone regretting purchasing either machine
