Weber EG-1 or Kafatek Flat MAX2 SLM?
i use these grinders for espresso: eg-1 w/ core, ultra, LS mc3 nautilus w/ HU none of these can do 1:1 light roast particularly well. I had heard that the max SLM was the way to go for this so that's what I went with! we'll see if the internet is right come september

KvdW Slim Jim Idro explained in six minutes [video]
perhaps you have an updated version, but i have one of the earliest ones and it definitely flexes the chassis when each lever is pulled. i cannot pull both levers at the same time or the machine will tilt. coincidentally it's not ideal to run 2 simultaneous preinfusions as the water supply at the gr...

1kg --> 3kg some observations
thanks for the link! i am using artisan and strangely my un-adjusted probe readings are very similar to what the hottop reads in that article. no issues w/ modbus per-se, but the default settings built into artisan wouldn't allow it to work, so mill city sent over a config file that had settings ver...

1kg --> 3kg some observations

Monolith Flat MAX - Sept-Oct '19 Production Run
anyone notice more clumping than expected with the new max? compared to the EG-1 and MC3 (virtually no clumping), several large clumps come out per dose on the max. probably a break-in related thing, but neither EG-1 nor MC3 (nor EK43 with ssp burrs) did this when brand new

Soupy puck on Slayer!?!
i recently tried dosing 19.5g in a vst 18g basket and found still a bit of water on top when removing PF, but regardless of that the puck knocked out very cleanly and didn't leave much to clean afterward
