I use a Quest M3 for roasting and I wonder if when you finish a roast, do you just unplug it or let the fan run till the roaster cooled down to a certain temperature? just wondering if this can help prolong the longevity of the Quest... I would buy. Mazzers are quality built, maybe you have to change the burrs, maybe not. Keep one for yourself and sell the other. Good luck!

Good question and I'm probably not best suited to answer it... But it's just another parameter from which you can deduct where you are in the roasting process. Personally I don't find much use for it, but I understand that more experienced roasters find it handy and use it to see where the roast is ...

Sorry for the late reply! EricS doesn't sell probes anymore so you'll have to look elsewhere anyway. The one I use works fine. You'll have to use a bit of aluminium foil to let it have a tight fit. My roasting is a bit on a hiatus (only temporary! ) so I don't have much experience with this
