Acaia Scale - App Update Available
Unfortunately I've tried that, with both the android updater and iOS, wonder if there's something wrong with the scale. Oddly when updating via android, the light doesn't blink that only happens on iOS. Either way I tried both methods and progress with the update was never made. Guess I'll see if I ...

Acaia Scale - App Update Available
Anyone having issues with trying to update? Using the latest app on iOS, I turn on the scale, pair with the app, switch it to update mode so it displays update on the scale, then click start update. The app then reads Firmware updating... and the lower left circle on the scale starts flashing slowly...

EspressoForge - Manual Espresso Press Project
Until the seal on the rok/presso fails and you get a neck full of boiling hot water, ask me how I know, it wasn't a fun experience. Any improvement where your face isn't above a potential failure point on something made for this high pressure would be a good thing

Espresso machine + grinder, $2000 budget
Ended up finding a returned QM67 and snagging that plus a vario, time to start accessory shopping. Is there a go-to bottomless portafilter, if it matters I'll only be making shots for myself most of the time so I have no idea if I should try and find one with a single, triple, or double basket. I gu...

Espresso machine + grinder, $2000 budget
To clarify I meant the plan was to get a Vario at a minimum, not step down, ideally step up to something better than the vario buy not buying now and/or finding a deal

Espresso machine + grinder, $2000 budget
Thanks for the advice I came close the same conclusion myself, I understand people suggestions levers etc but I really want a first machine to be something that limits the number of variables I can screw up, so a boiler setup with PID seems to be the way to go. I'm just going to try to find a deal on

Espresso machine + grinder, $2000 budget
After backing and getting screwed by ZPM, it's time to actually buy a machine that exists. Right now I have a clever, aeropress, and V60 as well as a Krups GX610050 grinder and a small hario grinder. I'm looking to upgrade from that onto something espresso capable. I'm likely only going to do a shot...

Presso tips and references
Just posting this as a warning to others about how gasket failures can go pretty bad with the presso. I was pulling a shot as normal with about a quarter of an oz of espresso was pulled through and I was continuing to apply pressure to the arms the piston gasket failed, this caused boiling hot water...

I pull Presso levers up and water gushes... help!
Yea I wouldn't call that gushing at all, you're piston simply isn't making a seal. Probably a worn out o-ring unless there is damage to the piston itself
