Zero cost adapter for portafilter pressure gauge

CIV; Like yours, my portafilter has a hole between 7 and 8 mm in diameter. The inside of the hole is unthreaded. The Presta valve stem has an outside diameter under 6 mm and it passes through the hole in the portafilter and is held in place with the nut that normally would fit on the valve stem if

Yikes... too- much - pressure! So... I made a portafilter pressure gauge and tested my pressure at the group... it pinned the gauge right off the scale!!! As my portafilter gauge's scale goes up to 1100 kPa (11 Bar) that would explain why the OPV is passing water every time I was pulling a shot and ...

Zero cost adapter for portafilter pressure gauge

After a little head scratching it occurred to me that I could make an adapter out of an old presta style bike inner tube valve stem that would be able to pass though the portafilter hole and let me measure pressure with a bike pressure gauge (to fit presta valves). Cut the valve stem out of an old t...

Using water level sensor with RO bottled water

I live in well water country and use purchased bottled water for my elektra. I am concerned that the water level sensor may not work properly with some very pure water (hasn't happened yet, but it makes sense that if all the ions are removed by reverse osmosis or distillation then the water wouldn't...

Question about valves on 2 group Elektra HX

Thanks a lot. Actually I had them apart several times for cleaning etc but I hadn't paid much attention to the valve seat. I will play further
