Tucson Coffee
I lived there for six years. Go check out Adventure Coffee roasters. They don't have a store front, but they roast in the little industrial units over on Kolb and Escalante. It is a father and son. I bought tons of green beens from them over the years. Good guys, good price, great selection, and

Anyone ever use a mix of roasted blends?
Sure, why not. There are no rules as far as I am concerned. Try it, if you don't like the result, do something different. If you do like the result, repeat often. That's how we learn

Need Help Finding My Way: Tasty but Overwhelming
this is strange to me. I like my regular coffee with a light tsp of sugar. However I always pull shots and drink them with no sugar. In fact I prefer Americano's and any other espresso based drinks without sugar. Just to confuse the issue more, I was born in Italy, and have lived there for

Kyuemon Ceramic Filter
how did you figure that out? I suffer from very infrequent, but severe migraines. I have yet to link to any specific triggers. On the filter, I like that. It seems that you could just invert it and pour some hot (or boiling) water through it in reverse to clean it pretty easily. Maybe even

Cheapest acceptable electric grinder for AeroPress
I use my Lido (v1) for AP at work all the time (camping as well). I have not timed it, but I would guess about 30 seconds to grind a full scoop. I know all the reviews say the Lido II is even faster than my Lido. Plus you get the benefit of having a nice camping

La Pavoni Europiccola Rebuild... Maybe :)
yeah, the first time I did mine, I had to lube that oring pretty good and really crank the portafilter in pretty firmly to get the o-ring to fully seat. With a few heat cycles and time it seated in a little more. I can't really tell you on the basket/dose size since mine is the milennium with

La Pavoni Europiccola Rebuild... Maybe :)
Hey Chris, good to see you got it all back together. I'm assuming that you have no leaks other than the sightglass issue you mentioned? If so, good. As far as the portafilter locking issue, the best results i got were following instructions that i believe i read either here or on the OE website. Bas...

Do Espresso Blends Taste Good Using French Press?
The blend I roast for espresso is one of my wife's favorite in the french press. Like mentioned earlier, it is tailored to make a good balanced shot, however it seems like a nice mild somewhat toned down version of what the same blend tastes like if roasted lighter and a bit faster. I would prefer t...

1st Gen Pavoni leak question
Gary, that's a pretty good question. I guess I assumed that since there is a gasket both above and below the base that it could leak there. I suppose, in theory, that the big flange nut (for lack of a better description) that the heating element mounts to could leak at the element and somehow seep b...

1st Gen Pavoni leak question
Can you tell if it is leaking at the boiler/base interface or at the heating element/boiler interface? Mine (millenium model) was leaking out the O-ring that seals the heating element to the boiler. I rebuilt everything and had a worse leak. After I took it back apart, I noticed chipped chrome on th...
