Stain on df64 burrs
I know what grinder it is. I was interested in what burr type. I've up to this never seen TiN coated burrs for a DF, only uncoated en red speed or silver Knight SSP

Lagom P64 Flat (Option-O)
Totally agree with Jeff. Running a kg of coffee in batches through a grinder would take 2 hours so 5kg is 10 hours. Take an hour rate of $45 and see if you want to pay $450 extra just for a break in service . I guess in that case most people will start crying about how

Stain on df64 burrs
Is it a stain or is it the coating coming off (hard to see in the picture)? My first impressions it's the coating which shouldn't happen unless you put something hard in the grinder like a stone but even than it's a pretty big surface. Or it's a bad burrset with a crappy coating. What brand/type of ...

Need advice on cleaning Mazzer burrs
Agree that they look just fine. That's the patina that these burrs will develop over time which does nothing bad for the performance. My HG-1 burrs looked the same after a couple of years of use without being in a storage

Lagom P64 Flat (Option-O)
You only need the patience to just enjoy the grinder and go with the flow . It'll perform well but become more inconsistent and grind settings will change to the finer side over the next 10kg. Just keep using it and in 6-12 months it'll be perfectly stable for the rest of your life. And those 10kg

Lagom P64 Flat (Option-O)
No coating of blasting will eliminate seasoning. There's nothing that can be said about the grinder befor running 10kg through it. The grind setting will shift around 0.5-1 towards the fine end when seasoning but how much will depend on burr type. My Omni burrs went from 1 to around 0.2 for espresso...

Weber EG-1 noises on fine grind settings
Good to hear that I could lead you in the right direction. Do contact LWW as the grinders shouldn't need shimming. It should be like that right out of the box. What I wrote earlier may they had a bad batch of bottom burr carriers. They'll only know if you guys tell them your problems

Weber EG-1 noises on fine grind settings
That sounds completely normal to me. Mine does the same and that's false chirp from 3.5. Something you need to stop worrying about with the design of this grinder. Listen when grinding than the sound is gone as all of the play in the threads is gone due to the load of grinding beans. When you learn ...

Lagom P64 Flat (Option-O)
Maybe you should read a bit more about how a grinder and burrs work to get a decent understanding. Just swapping burrs without knowing what you're doing can lead to all kinds of problems. You can ruin your whole grinder this way if you put thicker burrs in without knowing you seized up the whole gri...
