Miele CM5200 Brew Issues

Hi Kevin, I see no one has replied to your post. The reason is that this forum attracts mainly espresso/pourover nerds, probably none of whom own a Miele automatic espresso machine. We like to have separate grinders, groomers, tampers, roast our own coffee, etc. You probably should call your local M...

La Marzocco Linea Mini home service option? And versus ECM

Hi Beth, The factory warranty from LM includes home service. Shouldn't be a problem in Carmel. I would point out that the steam knobs in the LM Mini (and I think the Micra, but someone correct me if I'm wrong) are of a spring closure type. This means that you do not have to tighten them to get

Continuing difficulties in diagnosis

I would echo what jkoll said. Try a few different coffees. Coffee is probably a bigger variable than your equipment (which is quite good). I wouldn't rush to change out grinders. I might have missed it, but you didn't say what sort of coffee you like -- dark roasts, light roasts, traditional Italian...

Coffee too fresh for espresso. How to tell?

I've recently started roasting my own coffee (trying to) and found out that a lot of it was harsh-tasting, for want of a better word, maybe bitter, but definitely not pleasant. It got better at 5 days rest, but at 10 days after roasting, became much smoother, not harsh, and quite pleasant. So, now I...

Skale II issue

If it's a recent purchase, contact the vendor/manufacturer. They should send you a new one. Why mess around trying to fix something that's obviously defective?

Olympia Cremina (2017) - Leaking from grouphead after cleaning.

A leaking grouphead would be a piston seal problem. If you haven't actually replaced the seals since 2017, it's probably time

Peet's fancier stuff?

[quote] If you can, get it in one of their cafes rather than on-line, so you can be more cerftain of getting it close to the roast date. / If you order on line from Peets, the coffee has been roasted 1-2 days before they send it to you. It's quite fresh.

Peet's fancier stuff?

If you go in any Peet's store, they have most/all of their coffees in big bags and you can buy 1/4 lb or more at a time. Some of their "specialty" coffees are on-line only. The majority of their coffees are dark roast
