Niche Duo alternatives, reasonable price in USA

Well, I ended up ordering a DF64 Gen 2. Reports are that it is not as loud as my Encore. Dollar for Dollar, it seems the best option. I can start with the stock burrs, and upgrade should I feel the need. Lots of burr options and manageable workflow, noise (hopefully) and mess issues. Now

Profitec Pro 800, won't heat after power outage

I don't know how the Pro800 is wired, but It sounds like an electromagnetic solenoid relay repeatedly clicking. This can occur when there is enough voltage to energize the relay but not enough to keep it open. Error: I meant keep it closed, not open

Office Coffee Drama

I did this for myself only, but then the Safety patrol came around saw it in my cubicle and nixed it... Can't blame them, with an exposed boiler - high heat and high pressure who knows if someone came into my cube and tried it when I wasn't around. We had a "coffee club" but

Option-O Lagom 01 Discussion

I have found that the supplied grind cup has been most useful to grind for pourover and my Moccamaster due to it's large capacity. However, it is hit or miss when inverting directly into the portafilter. No matter how much I tap or swirl the cup, the grounds invariably get loaded up on one side of the basket and

Office Coffee Drama

I had always worked in government or NGO's so endless bureaucracy on things like coffee were to be expected. When my own office got big enough, I finally just brought in a little espresso machine: {image} (pic from seven years ago)

Have owned a La Pavoni Professional for over a year... need decent grinder.

At $200 or less, I would go with a hand grinder such as a 1ZPresso J-series or a Kingrinder

Have owned a La Pavoni Professional for over a year... need decent grinder.

So my wife and I purchased a La Pavoni Professional back in 2022. I have been using a $50 amazon grinder. Grind is inconsistent(but it was what we could afford). We are looking to upgrade to a decent grinder. We only make 1-4 drinks a day depending on guests, so a single-dose grinder might be good. I would love to
