Profitec Pro 800, won't heat after power outage

{image} Sigh... that is a $200 part. Would a dedicated surge protector have saved it? I have the whole house on a surge protector... for what it's worth

(Ab)using the Europiccola to pull coffee instead of espresso

Have done occasionally but not with stale coffee. I call it the Pavoni version of turbo shot or allongé, depending how coarse I go

Troubleshooting la Peppina double basket fit

Scrolling through my pictures, I found this video of a pull with the bottomless portafilter from Ipoktala. Sorry for the mediocre quality... While it doesn't say everything, it still kinda shows how neat the spring piston design is on this home lever. Many small spring levers struggle to achieve more than 20-25g and even reach 4-5

Troubleshooting la Peppina double basket fit

Before the 3D printed funnel I tried a 45mm lense hood from Amazon. It didn't work at all. Wouldn't stay on, had an inner lip that collected coffee, too light, etc. Since adding magnets to the 3D funnel, I haven't looked back. I have the same Searchpean scale and it's ok, but not great imo. Still, a good

SSP 98mm Lab Sweet User Experience

An acidic coffee will always be acidic and no sort of burr is going to change that, it might push that into different direction, but it's not like a burr can magically make a roast taste like the opposite of what it is, it can tame it, round it or really underline it, but it can't change it into something

Meaningful upgrade from Lelit Bianca V3

Lots of interesting remarks for sure. This is the very first time I have heard from a person who couldn't/wouldn't make better coffee with the Decent. Having had a 700 with flow control and now a Decent, I'd say I definitely make better coffee now, not even close. The e61 with flow was great! But I can do so much

Black and White Roasters

The natural was my go to for awhile. Definitely not a dark roast, closer to medium or medium dark at best

Lagom P64 Flat (Option-O)

how much would you expect grind adjustment/settings to change with seasoning? Just acquired a P64/HU burr setup from Prima coffee and sitting at nearly 2 for grind setting. I'll to come by some beans for seasoning (prodigal was sold out) but just wondering if I should be checking anything. Interestingly, after grinding about 1/2 pound at a

Long startup - Vibiemme Domobar Super

I haven't had time to open it up to do the pinch test yet but I can confirm that everything else is working perfectly with 9 bar pressure during extraction and blind basket. Flow rate with open group is 200ml in 30 seconds
