Mobile or hotel room brewing?
It's whatever level of caution or paranoia one feels is appropriate since you can't really know what was done. At least you can look inside a kettle yourself

Beginner seeking espresso setup first purchase recommendations
I think you are on the right track for a beginner, going with a single dose grinder, for sure. It will make it easier to switch between different coffees as you are figuring out what you like/don't like in the world of espresso (just keep good notes as you go). For a beginner, any of the grinders you mentioned

Izzo Alex Duetto 3 - pressure valve, need help !
If it's overfilling the steam boiler with the machine turned off, then the boiler fill valve probably leaks. Remove, open, examine, clean, possibly replace it depending on what you see

The boiler-refill problem is so severe that I've never even considered it as being an issue. You fill the boiler in the morning, pull your shots, you're done

Mobile or hotel room brewing?
My traveling days are over. But before the pandemic when I air-traveled for meetings, I always took a #2 V60 dripper and Porlex hand grinder plus portioned home roasted coffee beans with me. I just used in-room coffee maker for hot water. It was difficult to pour precisely without goose neck, but I manged fine. The resulting cup was

Revel Coffee - Colombia Washed Nitro Caturra
I just went into Everyman Espresso on Monday in the Village and they carry B&W. While I was waiting for my espresso I saw a bag of this! Julio Madrid Nitro Caturra with the same tasting notes. $25 for 12 ounces. I don't see it offered on the B&W website but it was roasted on 4/8 and there was another

Fellow's new brewer - Aiden Q&A
3 quick hitters (if you're still around Nick, this is awesome by the way that you did this): 1- I've seen some takes regarding the plastic used in Aiden and other coffee related products from SCA (like the XBloom Studio): With Aiden, what is the methodology behind using plastic for the shell? 2 - Water is the most

Thanks for the insight, Jim. I wasn't necessarily asking for a sight glass as much as I was griping about a small boiler that would need to be refilled frequently with only an indicator of, "maybe don't pull another shot please." I'm accustomed now to just using a kettle with the Flair that, quite frankly, if I'm going

Highest chance of success - roasters
I have some thoughts...do with them what you will: If you don't want another hobby then roasting may not be for you. Everyone that I know of, from those of us home roasters with only a year or 3 under our belts all of the way up to people like Hoos and Rao, I hear saying they
