La Marzocco Linea Mini R

Wow that's crazy you got something different than all of the photos on their website and every other Mini R I've seen photos of online so far. I hope mine will have a white base when it comes next month

Domobar Jr Hx Temperatures

Ike's approach works for Ike's selections of coffee and expectations from that coffee. If you have different coffees or expectations, you may need something a bit more controlled. 20-30 seconds might be appropriate for a "dragon", but shorter flushes are generally more appropriate. I typically would flush to just below my target pulling temperature on the EricS' thermometer, then

Canadian Roaster Recommendations

Thanks Chris. I reread his posts about the Brulerie offerings and he generally wasn't impressed, least of all by the robusta blend. I hadn't heard of Manic, probably worth a try. I know you like Zab (as do I), but their Joyeux Roger didn't do it for me, even though its their biggest seller. I may also go back and

Making the last Pharos [VIDEO]

I think the Pharos is the only grinder of theirs that I never owned, but I still watched every second of this. Damned if it didn't feel like a goodbye of sorts (hope not). Wonderful people...hammer technique and all. And this last one is still in stock on their site?! Someone needs to grab it

I'm happy you said that. I was seeing that with the 20-30s flushes that lots of articles/posts suggest, it was just decimating the group temp and it would take a long time to recover

Drum roast profile on a fluid bed

It does. I run very similar bean temp profiles on my Quest drum and P1 air roaster. For the drum, I keep my environmental temp at roughtly 500F throughout. On the P1, I ramp up the inlet air temperature from 300F to 475F in the first seven minutes, and keep it steady for the last three. The final

Craigslist Linea Mini

Thanks Ben Z. I did purchase my first car off CL. For the life of me, I do not remember how I paid. Good point on the robbery vs La Marzocco scale

Drum roast profile on a fluid bed

I want to try to come up with a drum style full city roast for my fluid bed. Goal is to extend roast time to increase depth and decrease acidity without getting too much roast/scorch flavor. My fluid bed has little to no heat retention. How would you approach it? My thoughts right now are to vary input

Craigslist Linea Mini

Just use cash. As a seller, I wouldn't accept anything but cash. Are you worried about getting robbed? I don't think the venn diagram between armed robbers and LA Marzocco owners has much overlap. I've bought and sold multiple cars for cash on Craigslist. Sold one special car on ebay - I met the dude
