User Experience with the Strietman CT2

Ive just read through all 109 pages of this topic. Great informations ! Im super closed to order a CT2 myself. I have a Robot, and as much I love the shot I can pull from that little machine, I hate the workflow, especially the preheating part (im only using light roast). For all previous users of the

Meticulous vs Decent

I also haven't heard about how Meticulous has resolved the patent issues. This may not be a direct issue outside of the US, but inability to deliver in the US may have ripple-through effects. (Decent was also alleged as infringing on other claims. I would read up on the situation and form your own opinions.)

Breville Dual Boiler boiler leak

Hey! Long-time lurker here... My BES920XL developed a super slight leak in the boiler, only noticed because it was slightly audible and the pump would run at random times. It took an unreasonable amount of dissembly and investigation to diagnose, but it was leaking ever so slightly straight through the walls of the boiler. I have only owned a few

Meticulous vs Decent

Well, the Decent is much more of a known quantity. You can buy it today, has a large community around it, and it has a good resale market as well. The Meticulous definitely seems cool from a concept level, but you will have to wait for an uncertain ship date and if any issues with it emerge.

ACS waiting times

I also had the request for the senders address and my SSN. Hopefully this will be sorted out early next week... I do think that there is probably some cultural confusion as to what "next week" means. I work in the semiconductor industry, where deadlines and promises to customers are carved in stone. Obviously, this is not the case

Travel grinder

I found the Chestnut C3 ESP pretty quick for Moka. I was advised to get the "espresso version" as the adjustments are finer. I think it's a very good grinder for the price. The KINU is probably a bit better but more than double the price and a little bigger to pack

Moccamaster user

Shocked to read this thread about flow rate changing with the 1/2 pot, full pot switch. I went and re-read my original instructions from 2016 and the only reference to that switch is hot plate temperature. No idea when they switched over to the flow rate also being controlled by that switch. I sent mine in for

So a normal drip coffee machine, attached to an espresso machine. I read somewhere that these were the result of Americans complaining about their coffee being too strong

Help purchasing ECM Home, Profitec Go, or Pro 300...

Any E61-style machine is going to take 30-45 minutes to be ready from cold. For me, that has become a significant drawback. I got used to deciding I wanted an espresso and bring about to enjoy one within 15 minutes. A smart switch can help for mornings if your timing is predictable, but not really later in the day.
