Highest chance of success - roasters

Kaffelogic can be used successfully with limited roasting knowledge using one of the many available roasting profiles, and is totally repeatable. Batch size is small, but running a few roasts back to back is super-simple

Differences between Ww core 80mm and Ssp 83mm HU in espresso

Yeah I try other beans and ratios sometimes but always come back to the old Faithfull. It's true a different burr may be able to bring out something I like in lighter roasts or longer pulls but it's a huge expense 500-900 NZD if I don't like it. Also the cast LS wug bused to offer have been

Izzo Alex Duetto 3 - pressure valve, need help !

Thanks alot for the response mate! I did take the water level probe and valve off, descaled it and even put the valve in cafiza, to get dirt away. It is plumbed yes, and the temperature is set to 128 and 93 degrees. Before this happened, normally with 128 degrees its around the high end on the pressure

Beginner seeking espresso setup first purchase recommendations

Hi guys, I am an absolutely, complete total coffee beginner, located in Melbourne Australia looking to update my coffee game. Currently I just buy pre-ground coffee from the supermarket and brew it in a Breville aroma style BCM600. Out side of home I buy a cappuccino, and my fiancé likes a double strength latte. Pretty much I only make

The Grinder Evolution Continues

Most of the fancy third-wave shops I know took their Roburs off the counter years ago. Their iconic 83mm conical burrs in the 220 V models (which is the same as in your Key) are seen by many as not modern enough anymore in the era of light roasts and many new flat burr grinders. Me, I am still

Understanding Brew Pressure, Flow, Valves, and "Slayer Shots"

I agree with Jake that in practice, a PID to control the steam boiler is not a problem at all, especially in a home environment. The chunky Sirai pressurestat on my old Quickmill E61 has been going strong for 16 years. Nary a carbon trace on the contacts, and the membrane is still intact and flexes properly. The machine

Differences between Ww core 80mm and Ssp 83mm HU in espresso

Like I wrote before, I don't believe 83HU would perfectly suit your roast and ratio preferences. TBH, while it's a good burr set, there are so many good options, (I really mean "better options") in the 80mm and even 83mm that I think you should simply look elsewhere. Core and 71mm mazzer (especially at low rpm) would make

Olympia Cremina lever questions after group gasket replacement

Hello all, and thank you for your responses. I've relocated across the USA, away from these machine for now, so I'm going off my memory of their operation to answer some of your questions, rather than having immediate access to them. From Richard: 1) How old is the coffee? Where and when was it purchased? What

Shot inconsistencies with SSP Cast LS

Could just be that they need even more seasoning. Some have reported a noticeable improvement around the 8-10kg mark while I remember someone with a lot of experience saying he stopped noticing small changes and everything got much more consistent after 20kg. I had a set of CV2 that I purchased used with over a year of usage. I

New Mazzer grinder announcement - Mazzer Philos

I'm in the market for a new grinder and I'm in Japan, so this is good to hear. Did they indicate a price for the Japan market? Who is the Mazzer distributor in Japan? Is it DCS?
