I'm thinking a Flow Control Device isn't worthwhile for my Appartamento...

These are incorrect assumptions. Flow profiling is a deep topic and the type of pump the machine has is irrelevant. The Decent does not have a rotary pump and is the most capable flow and pressure profiling machine you can buy. Direct levers have no pump at all (besides the monkey attached to the handle) and they are even more

Weber Key Grinder

Can any of the lucky Key owners tell me, how many steps there are within a full rotation? And a question to the magic tumbler: does it have some kind of rim on the lower side to keep it in position on the portafilter when you pull the middle part out to let the grounds slide in to the

La Pavoni Ideale 1929

She is purring like a kitten now She was on all day and the brewing groups were leak free and functioning well. With regards the boiler pressure, the instruction manual says 0.8 bar (well they say 0.8 atm) minimum and 1.0 atm maximum. The boiler is stamped with a 2.0 kg rating

End game grinder: EG-1, Kafatek MC4 or Flat Max?

These questions are usually along the lines "I don't have many requirements, I just want the thing that is the best at everything, with no compromises." I would suggest one of two courses of actions. Either buy whatever you think is best, for whatever irrational reason, stop reading reviews and just assert that it is the best OR accept

New La Marzocco Linea Mini - noisy and not heating up

Where did you purchase your machine? When I picked up mine about a month ago, the distributor already did a full pre-check setting all the pressures and checking if everything was working. They do this on all machines that enter our country. When I arrived home it was plug & play and I was (and still am) amazed at how

I'm thinking a Flow Control Device isn't worthwhile for my Appartamento...

From what I've read it makes little sense to use a FCD on a vibe pump machine. Vibe pumps already built up slower to a lower pressure (7-8 ml/s) than a rotary pump which instantly goes to 12+ ml/s. The goal of flow profiling is to ramp it up with a few seconds of 2-3 ml/s and limit

Profitec Pro 600 Review from a Pro 500 Vet.

All I read in your post is your complaint about the 2bar pressure. And not the benefits from temperature stability that the DB is offering. since you drink mainly milk based drinks almost any espresso shot will be fine that is why you didn't comment on DB temp stability. Regarding the 2 bar pressure my Bianca is also capable of
