7 gram single shot?? Mission impossible!

The new one is/was called "advanced" and sometimes "stainless steel advanced." The newer-style basket that I received from La Marzocco Home USA had part number F.3.053 on the invoice (a.k.a. F3053 for searching) Other part numbers are: L115/A - I think - think - that this is the LM1. F3029 - stainless steel 7g basket F3029S - stainless steel Strada...

Why is Europiccola shot so cool?

Just to be clear, Im talking about coffee temp in the cup. Based on taste, both machines are extracting ok, so I assume temp in the puck is similar ... but maybe not. Maybe the Euro gets higher pressure at lower temp. This is a Millenium Europiccola. It only has one switch. I do usually bleed off some pressure after...

What size thermocouples should I buy?

Don, I bought the same TC for BT for my Mill City 1k - 2mm x 72mm. The length is perfect, as I've been able to get down to about 200g batches with accurate temp tracking, but I have noticed the noise is higher than I'd like it to be. I appreciate the sensitivity, but am thinking that I'll probably...

Bezzera Unica extracting too quickly

If you can't grind fine enough to stop the extraction and the coffees you tried aren't abjectly stale, it's the grinder. After 5 years, the burrs could be worn out, or they could have been damaged by a stone. I'd start by replacing the burrs or considering an upgrade.

Bezzera Unica extracting too quickly

I been using this grinder last 5 years and never had any sort of problem, the finest coffee I was grinding used to stop the extraction, and I didn't change anything to my setup. Also I tried with different coffee beans but same result.

What exactly does a brew pressure gauge measure?

My machine (opv adjusted to 9 bar by me) has a tube out of the opv that goes back into the water tank. So yes, water is diverted, and in my case, ends up back in the tank. I would guess for a plumbed in machine, it would divert to the drain. Side note, in case any finds this interested,...

Your gripes about coffee equipment

Biggest gripe is the layout. I would have liked to have a longer more linear counter with more electrical outlets to have everything laid out. Right now I have a wide peninsula but the electrical is in one area, so everything is clumped together.

Commandante vs Fellow Ode

Michael Fabian put the Comandante ahead of the Ode in his showdown. It was the first review by someone a bit skeptical to the product that I've seen.

Breville Barista Express 870XL Grinder Won't Start

I think I bought my 870XL in 2016 and then late 2018 I started experiencing the same problem described in this thread. At that time I was able to buy a new microswitch from eReplacementparts.com and have it shipped to my sister's house in California since they didn't ship to Canada. Before the switch even arrived at her house it...
