Understanding Brew Pressure, Flow, Valves, and "Slayer Shots"

Indeed it does. The interesting thing is that when one puts a needle valve between the pump and the gauge, you can limit the peak pressure the gauge reads. In so doing, you also limit the flow through the puck, and limit the pressure drop between the gauge and the puck. You can't know with any precision what the

Starting to roast - Greens selection

You might also ask your greens supplier what coffee of theirs to choose that is very forgiving. You'll want something that will turn out well, not "seasoning greens," which are old leftovers

SSP 98mm Lab Sweet User Experience

Short question concerning ordering the newest LS 98mm. Are they named EK43 LS on espressotool.com? Currently grinding with the 98 HU, but I'm missing some body and sweetness in my cups. Australian Distilled/De-ionized water

In some parts of Australia I think ZeroWater filtration would be a good option. Not just cost wise but also to reduce the container waste. Maybe not for Perth though where the TDS of the tapwater can easily be up in the 300-600 range. ZeroWater filters are more quickly exhausted if you have high TDS -
