Differences between Ww core 80mm and Ssp 83mm HU in espresso

I have the 83HU and I agree with Malling and Lobin - they are much more unimodal than you'd expect. They look like the 64HU, but they don't perform similarly at all. Not quite MP level of clarity, but pretty darn clear and bright, and they go a little finer than the MP so it's easier to dial

Breville Oracle not heating boiler to temp

I've got a Breville oracle that had one of it's PTFE tubes break. When it broke it leaked some water, the steam boiler overheated and the thermal fuse blew. After that it wouldn't heat to temp, never going above 158F. So I replaced the thermal fuse on the steam boiler. Now the steam

Pasquini - how does the valve / filter come out of the tank?

I've never had one of these apart, but the parts list seems to show that it would screw together from both sides... Pictures and description of p/n 5225401 (called a "reduction gear") show this brass piece has threads on both ends

Differences between Ww core 80mm and Ssp 83mm HU in espresso

The 83mm is a modern take on espresso burr so it's noticeable more unimodal at espresso range. It's not the bimodal type of the 64mm version

Mazzer Philos Comments

To each their own, but... the ergonomics baffle me. Even with the oddly configured settings on the dial, if you want to have this under a counter it would be a bit annoying. Especially since they are touting it as a one-grinder solution to all coffee needs. I understand this configuration makes it easier to clean without losing settings -

Differences between Ww core 80mm and Ssp 83mm HU in espresso

Hansung's naming is indeed upmost confusing. I do however need to make a case for the 83HU. While 80/98HU are totally different beasts, the 83HU were designed before the 64HU and are much more unimodal than we believe. In fact, pulling two shots side by side with 64HU and 83HU, I doubt people would think they

Fellow Aiden anyone?

A #2 cone in a Clever Dripper (size S) maxes out at ~250ml brew water and that is with added volume underneath the filter to facilitate flow. Sure, it probably shouldn't overflow with a proper grinder, dose and setting.. I just wondered what happens when something's off
