Highest chance of success - roasters
Hah! Def not the fun way to do roasting, I agree. Not the way I do most of my roasting either since I'm in it for the weird, deep dive hobbyist angle. It's, I've found, the most automated way to do home roasting to get good quality coffee, which I take it is what the OP was after

Upgrading my Grinder Game
I agree that a Kafatek conical may be a good choice. I'd also look into what Titus has to offer. I believe Frank has a DRM or conical option. His grinders are top-notch as well

Mazzer Philos Comments
Since there is an augur and the shutter is closed (see below), popcorning is not an issue. Like all single dose grinders, it grinds slower for single dose than if you load it up (say for seasoning a burr). But the speed differences between fine and coarse grinds, or loaded up and single dose, are not noticeable in normal use

Steam Tip Dial, Cheap
After spending some time with this tip I am getting a consistent result with the aperture open half way and the pressure set at .9 bar. My only limitation now is my technique pouring not the quality of the micro foam. I contemplated selling the Cremina for better steaming performance because latte art is something I want to impress

Fellow Aiden anyone?
As someone who can't seem to be consistent with pourover, I am excited for this. The price is much less than I would have thought, so I jumped in right away

Breville Dual Boiler Mods and Maintenance
I haven't used a vibe pump in my BDB since early 2019, so memory fades. But it sounds pretty normal to me. What happens to pressure if you let it run against the blind basket for a whole 60s? Does the pressure stabilise at a certain value? Your test video is too short to be determinative. Also, one of

Caffeine break
In a word, no.* Nor wine, whisky/ey, chocolate, or licorice. I upped my fish consumption to compensate for the Omega 3 in capsules. * I'm not sure there is one. It took three months at a pound a week to find a decaf that ticked all the espresso boxes. And I still had a racing heart waking me up

Water, no scale? no corrosion? For reservoir espresso machines
Good point. That does put a wrinkle in trying to predict limescale using LSI calculations. I think you are still probably fine given that most of the time your steam boiler is at much lower pressure, but hard to be 100% sure. If you are using that soft water, and also the LeLit resin softener in the

Upgrading my Grinder Game
+1 for KafaTek. Requires some patience for a new one, but my pre-order was listed as May and I got it last week. Sometimes you can also buy a brand new unit off somebody who paid the deposit but backs out before the second payment and shipping. Check around here and kafatek forum as others mentioned. Or get a
