Cannot find the obstruction in HX/thermosiphon (Bezzera Mitica)

Empty the machine of water, put descaling solution in the tank and let the machine fill, pull some shots so it gets everywhere. Depending on the instructions let the machine heat up and sit for a bit and then purge all the solution out and flus with water till it's gone. Or take off the suspect pipes, put them in...

Does removing coffee fines (e.g. with a sieve) always improve flavor?

I didn't find that sieving my coffee made it better. Just different. Less rich. BUT, I really didn't experiment with changing my brew and grind methods, so I don't think I gave it a fair shake.

Thin, watery shots with Breville Dual Boiler "Slayer mod"

Here's a vid, about as good as I could get it dialed but can see how fast it starts to blonde and starts showing some channeling and ghost spots starting. Any finer and that just gets worse, and coarser and the shot is even thinner tasting, crema weaker than already weak crema. 19g/38 out in 43 seconds I think. Still...

Help identify a part for Avanti Milano

That's what looks like a perfectly standard "cartridge heater," 800 watt, 110V. Search Amazon, ebay and aliexpress.com for that and find one the same size. Ira

Cannot find the obstruction in HX/thermosiphon (Bezzera Mitica)

The only idea I have right now sounds a bit iffy: I could put descaling in the tank, close the clear pipe (the lower one) with a finger, and make the pump push the descaling through the upper pipe... Obviously a gloved hand is needed here. But maybe there is a better idea?

Overflow and steam from exhaust tube into E61 drip tray

Right, but is it a leaky OPV or a vacuum breaker valve?

Cannot find the obstruction in HX/thermosiphon (Bezzera Mitica)

So, I have put my finger down the mushroom hole Thank you NicoNYC for the idea! When I close the upper pipe (from HX to group head) and run the pump, water comes at full flow through the lower pipe. When I close the lower pipe... I have to press quite a bit harder to close it. I feel it...

1Zpresso J-Max Grinder Compared to Niche Zero?

Sorry for my delay in response y'all! Last few days at work have been hectic. Jeff, Jonk, and Ryan: thank you all for your responses! As always, quite helpful. Jeff, your deep dive into how you assess quality was full of great insights for me! Jonk, yes, if possible and if you have the extra beans, any distribution testing you...

Cafelat Robot User Experience

Glad I'm not the only one to perform this clever trick. It is very confusing in those first several seconds, isn't it?

3D printed stand for Levercraft WDT Tool

Are the needles on the Levercraft that sharp? You'd be hard pressed to do more than irritate your hand with these 3D printer "needles". Or were you concerned about leaning over and poking yourself in the eye? For me the worries are: - burning myself with boiling water - poking my eye on the raised Robot claw - dropping the...
