I assure you it's not a cultural thing in Naples, in fact I'd be surprised if it's that way anywhere in Italy now, things are tough. The delays on this were getting things right and getting parts, and high quality steel etc

The original gasket is still good to go. Maybe 50 cups of espresso made with the unit. I upgraded pretty quickly to an Ascaso Dual PID and have had this in storage.

1959 Faema Urania Three Group Hydraulic with Hotel Group
yep Hydraulic group disassembly I proceeded to open up one of the hydraulic groups. As said earlier it is very heavy. There are some great cross-sectional illustrations at "E61 Group Espresso Machine: Detailed Interior Schematics" Drilling down into the cam chamber and then up from the dispersion block recess seems like a very reasonable way to get the two connected reliably. Still no drill bit that I know of that turns corners that tightly over 60 years later
