Pietro by Fiorenzato - vertical flat-burr manual grinders

For a 16g shot you are grinding 1:30 if not going unnaturally fast. It is almost effortless for a dark roast and for a light roast easier than any other hand grinder but with about 3 random stalls during one shot, which will rock your arm and then it requires a bit of force comparable to the harder to turn

Breville Oracle - hole in hose | Replace or fix/seal?

I found a hole in one of my hoses likely from me piercing it with the clip that secures it to the steam boiler. I'm trying to find a replacement for this hose online otherwise I'd just order that and be done with it. Is it possible to seal a hole like this with a food grade silicone?

Office Coffee Drama

That article was hilarious! Our office has a few coffee folk and a kitchenette, so we have a kettle, chemex, grinder, and a flair neo, next to a Keurig. The judgment and eye rolls can get pretty thick

Aliexpress Lever Machine

I came across this lever machine advertised on Aliexpress, and I have to admit I'm pretty curious. While I would never take the plunge on a complicated electric pump machine on Aliexpress, looking at this one it seems like there are a lot fewer parts to mess up or be of crappy quality. I mean it's basically just a big

Office Coffee Drama

A Pavoni would be good as it would be quiet as long as one didn't steam milk. I remember a safety rule came down saying no coffee machines/kettles/toasters/electric heaters in cubicles. We asked why and were eventually told that the rule was because the wiring inside the cubicle dividers couldn't handle the load and breakers were blowing. (The

The espresso journey begins...setup advice, please!

Great coffee with a good grinder in a Bambino can beat cheap coffee or a cheap grinder and a very expensive machine. I agree that looking for a used Niche Zero is a good path to pursue. I think the Lagom Mini is a great grinder, better if you're going to try pour-over as well

The espresso journey begins...setup advice, please!

Used Niche Zero is a great way to go. Commonly pop up for sale here. They are well built and last well. Great grinder for espresso. Budget constraints are real, and don't break the bank, but I'd recommend saving up and buying a grinder and machine that will serve you for a good long while. Saves money for

Pietro by Fiorenzato - vertical flat-burr manual grinders

Wanted to update that I have been using the Pietro pro brew with the base and some silicon sticky pads and it has made grinding much easier. I can actually grind with one hand if I wanted to. Would recommend folks who have the grinder get the base and sticky pads especially if grinding for espresso. Also
