Plumbing my Microcimbali ?

There is a boiler drain spout if that's what you mesn by the hot water spout, unless I have that reversed. The owner manual should tell you. The boiler cap pipe is narrow, so it's hard to fully empty it. I don't know if there is any way of slowing corrosion short of anodizing all aluminum boiler parts. You balance...

IKAWA Home - profiles

When I used those profiles on Polar espresso, I remember when FC started. With the "semi-washed" Sweet Daterra Blue, the FC came 30 seconds earlier, so I dumped the beans 30 seconds before the end. I also tried the earlier Full City curve that accelerates the heating in the last minute. Same thing happened there. FC was 30 seconds early,...

Which espresso machine under $5000 budget for light & dark roasts

Hm, as a former DE owner I will recommend two levers ACS Leva, and LR24. Don't want lever? Go Bianca. Had all machines I recommended besides ACS,

SSP 98mm "Brewing" Burrs

Has anyone used the combination of Titus brew burrs + P100 grinder noticed any problem with ground evcaution? As mentioned by one user, the deepest cuts of the brew burr fell below the rim of P100, which may lead to ground evacuation problems I suppose (but with high rpm at the end to evacuate all grounds wondering if it will...

Decent Espresso news

{image} Buckman article in "The Lever" Magazine I wasn't aware of The Lever Magazine before Claudio and Simone, the editors, approached me. I took the opportunity to read, cover-to-cover, the 3 previous issues, and I was floored at how similar their view of espresso was to Decent's. They are actually scientific about it, with talk of basket diameters, temperature profiles,...

Which espresso machine under $5000 budget for light & dark roasts

Buy the DE1 and a great grinder(MC4, Monlith Flat Max, P64, etc...) and don't look back.

SSP 98mm "Brewing" Burrs

Interesting, that makes sense. I'm finding I'm using about the same grind settings as well. What kind of final draw down times are you seeing with the Kono+double bloom recipe? I'm getting in the ~4:05-~4:40 range for most brews.

Lagom P100

Hello Chencheh, are you by any chance using the brew burrs in P100 from titus? Another user(eiern) seems to mention that the deepest cuts of the brew burr fell below the rim of P100, which may lead to ground evacuation problem. Wondering have you noticed any problem with ground retention? Thank you.
