Water, no scale? no corrosion? For reservoir espresso machines

From the looks of the table, with max alkalinity at 46, and y Mara X hitting 2+ bar during the super heat, it seems that maybe scaling could be possible with the Geyser. I'll have to decide if this is a concern to me. I can always go back to distilled / RO and the potassium bicarbonate

Highest chance of success - roasters

I'm going with no - just picking up roasting and hoping to get decent results is probably not going to happen. I approached learning to roast on a Cormorant as a hobby, and found that it took a year for me to be consistently happy with the coffee that i produce. I'm sure that this can be accelerated

Decent Espresso news

The UI for the Half Decent Scale, based on Sofronio's firmware, has been much simplified. The weight and time is all that is shown, and the two buttons control power/tare (left button), with the right button controlling the timer (start/pause/reset-start) This is a short video from a few days ago, showing what the scale UI will look like:
