Quick Mill QM67 Flow/Pump Help

The Gicar typically controls the pump in parallel with the brew switch, so me thinks not. If I was to try to simulate the behavior, I'd pinch the pump inlet. Hopefully the inlet has a filter screen or is cut with a V to preclude sealing against the reservoir. I mark the tubes so I can ensure they are always...

[WTB] Rancilio Silvia (Hudson Valley)

Looking to buy a used Rancilio Silvia for a project after I've let go of my daily Alexia machine to a fellow HBer. I would ideally prefer local pickup in the Hudon Valley NY area.

Lagom P64 Flat (Option-O)

I honestly do not think you will be dissapointed with a Niche, but the P64 will for sure come out on top with respect to grind quality, build quality and consitency. It will most probably also be the best option when it comes to extraction and clarity of flavour, although the conical burrs on the Niche might provide a bit...

Olympia Cremina - Need help, broken dipper tube

That looks like a good repair to me. The proof will be when you try it. It looks like you have the skills to fit a larger size pipe if needed.

Does removing coffee fines (e.g. with a sieve) always improve flavor?

The problem with such simple questions is that it is a single parameter in what is a multi-parameter process. I could say making the grind finer / coarser on my drip coffee improves / worsens the taste. All of which are true. Now if we throw in changing the grind, the filter, the coffee, the coffee weight, the amount, type...

New Ikawa Home Roaster - 100g capacity

If the app has cloud connections which is seems like it does, it can look up permissions in the cloud every time you start it, otherwise, how does the subscription work? Ira

New Ikawa Home Roaster - 100g capacity

I was also thinking this. Like how would they be able to do this. Technically doesn't work. You can't shut off features in app after a certain date?

Homemade Flair Classic puck screen

Whoa, I was just wondering why doesn't anyone make a cupped puck screen to prevent biased outboard flow. Lessen the possibility of "donut flow". When will yours be coming to market?

Overflow and steam from exhaust tube into E61 drip tray

You guys were right. It was a sticky plunger inside the expansion (opv) valve. Once I had it open, it was really hard pull the plunger out because it was so locked up. Eventually got it out. Soaked in descaler, and brushed with a brass bristle brush. Reassembled with some food safe lube and it's working as normal again for...
