New Mazzer grinder announcement - Mazzer Philos
I'm in the market for a new grinder and I'm in Japan, so this is good to hear. Did they indicate a price for the Japan market? Who is the Mazzer distributor in Japan? Is it DCS?

Shot inconsistencies with SSP Cast LS
I recently switched to SSP Cast burrs V2 silver and I cannot get decent shot to shot consistency out of . Shots can be 31 seconds and the next one 17 seconds, then 45 seconds. Every else staying the same. I've read a lot about them before purchasing. I read about those having issues using them for espresso

Downgrading from Slayer. Options sought.
I had great success getting very thick shots out of the decent. The newer models have reduced headspace, which apparently helps with this, though i was using a spacer. Having said that, the Micra looks like a great option for you

Wega Mini Nova Rebuild
Update 16 April 2024 Received and installed the NTC probe and the machine works and cycles as it should. All systems are functional. Another small victory. Only issue now is that I wanted to convert the Lavazza Blue 2811 into a Wega MiniNova. I ordered and received the necessary conversion kit: Dispersion screw, screen, seal, portafilter and filter

Insulated the Boiler Tanks for Marzocco Linea-wanted to share
I'm an amateur but from my limited experience and research, I HIGHLY Recommend Insulating with the best all round insulation Polyester, AND for FREE!: We just insulated our 1999 circa Marzocco Linea Espresso Machine with 2 boiler tanks. If it was a 10 years newer model it would have had some OEM insulation installed from new, but it

Mobile or hotel room brewing?
For camping, I use a melitta cone, and I boil water in a percolator style pot on the Coleman and just remove the insert (it was a gift so I figured I may as well use it). I'm looking at a small gooseneck to replace it, and considering the clever dripper as an upgraded brewer. If I'm staying

Breville Dual Boiler Mods and Maintenance
Careful heating. The tube is PTFE, which is highly heat resistant. And it might not behave the way you expect, when heated. So be careful if that is the route you take. I think the way they get the ferrule in there is by a press. You might be able to put some pliers down on the brass ring, and

Mazzer Philos Comments
This is helpful thanks. Marking my J-Max and K-Max grinders were pretty straight forward. It helped that with those grinders, the numbers are also tactile. For the K-Max, my sighted wife placed a small dot of fabric glue above the number (every 10th step) and a short line at the 5th step in between the numbers and marked the red

Water, no scale? no corrosion? For reservoir espresso machines
From the looks of the table, with max alkalinity at 46, and y Mara X hitting 2+ bar during the super heat, it seems that maybe scaling could be possible with the Geyser. I'll have to decide if this is a concern to me. I can always go back to distilled / RO and the potassium bicarbonate
