Niche Zero not pushing out ground coffee

My favorite thing about the NZ is how easy it is to dial in espresso, and then it generally doesn't need to be touched until I switch roasts. Not only that, but if I switch between two roasts, when I go back to the first, I set the grind dial exactly where it was previously and I get the same

DF64 adjustment dial mod

Very impressive and innovative mod, and in style. But instead of a handle, I think you could perhaps press down with one hand on the bellow, or the upper burr carrier, to ease up some or all of the spring pressure against the dialing collar, then with the other hand, you could easily dial and set the grind size with

Aluminum vs Stainless Steel Moka Pot Brewing James Hoffmann

I'll bet that it is stainless steel, just not magnetic as BHR mentioned. For induction compatibility you don't really want magnetic steel anywhere other than the base. Could it be that Hoffmann thought that it being non-magnetic meant that it isn't stainless?

La Pavoni Lever in upright position?

Do you hear the hiss of water when you lift the lever at the top of its travel? I would suggest checking the orientation of the seals at the piston. The flare of the top seal should point up, while that of the lower seal should point down

I'm thinking a Flow Control Device isn't worthwhile for my Appartamento...

Hmm...interesting. Thanks for the info. I'd love to hear about experiences and see pics of this splitter installed with the M6 thread adapter, Eric's thermometer and a brew pressure gauge

Water report and advice on RO or filter

For the last year or so, I've been buying distilled water, adding epsom salt and potassium bicarbonate to it for use in my espresso machine. I've also been using distilled mixed with tap water and adding minerals for homebrewing beer. Since the availability of distilled water has become somewhat sporadic recently, I'm taking another look at my options

Starting a pop-up cart with Breville Dual Boiler/Niche Zero

You may need NFS-rated equipment along with the department of health inspections and such. There is a lot more to it than just showing up with an espresso machine. You need to check with your local municipality about the requirement for a food service startup, business licensing and such

Plumbing in

Water supply line you can route as you need. Drain line needs to have a continus down slope. You should check the water line requirement for the machine. Something like a refrigerator water line will probably be too small. Most plumbed in machines require a pressure regulator to step down your mains pressure and a 3/8 inch supply
