Conical burr grinder jamming. Gear disc or motor?

I appreciate your taking the time. Taking this a bit further... If the gear was slipping on the shaft, wouldn't I hear the grinder turning? The gear is infact press on and plastic.

Is this OPV? Ascaso Dream 2016

That looks like a coupling or check valve, not an over-pressure valve. If you take an OPV apart, it will look something like this: {image} From "La Marzocco GS3 Leaking" The "valve assembly" above is threaded to allow the "hose connection" part above to change the compression of the spring, thereby increasing/decreasing the closure pressure of the "OPV body" part...

Breville Oracle BES980XL Thermal Fuse Replacement/Detailed Disassembly

Hello friends, I would like to ask for an advice. I followed the procedure of changing the fuse, and I think i did it right, after assembly pumps start to run, but I have realized, that the steam boiler was under voltage. Is it normal? Have you any idea, where I could make a mistake? Thank you very much.

Espresso Machine On All Day?

I have my machines on timers set to come on at 6am & off at 6 pm everyday. I'm around all day so I want the machine up to temp when I want a shot. I alternate between the machines so only one is on each day. Both machines have insulated boilers which lengthens the time between heating cycles &...

Volumetric dosing on Bezzera BZ13/Crema

I do this today with my Breville machine and am happy with it. I frequently manual dose my own but my daughters can't be bothered to weigh shots and frankly even with the minor variability in shot quality it still beats the quality from the local donut shop and they are only making milk drinks. So imo your thinking is...

Value Of A Bottomless Portafilter In Developing Skill?

It is avoidable. Roasting in and of itself isn't the issue - it's what the roaster does/doesn't do to check on the quality of roasts. It seems that the bigger the company, the more likely there will be quality assurance plans and procedures in place. Industrial-sized roasting companies like illy generally have good Quality Assurance/Quality Control. Among smaller-volume roasters, I...

Espresso Machine On All Day?

Really? This is one of the site's top perennial questions, behind "when should I start timing the extraction?" and "does this puck look normal?" (puckology). Here's one of my first replies on the topic, dating back over 14 years: "Leave it on, or turn it off?" Also see the back-n-forth in "Leaving a Prosumer HX Espresso Machine On CAN SAVE...

Is this OPV? Ascaso Dream 2016

I am going to guess "No", although I'm not 100% sure. I certainly don't think I see an OPV in there. The blue thing is a pump, there's a white teflon hose connecting it to the "Thermocoil" (boiler). There's fittings on both ends of the teflon hose and fittings on both ends of the elbow that is connected to the...
