ECM flow control installation

I always work in 3/8 John Guest tubing rather than 1/4, but 1/4 should be okay for a run of 15 feet or less. BUT... if your water treatment set up is not in the same room, I strongly suggest that you at least have your final shut-off valve in the same room as the machine, that way when you...

Uniterra Nomad

High temperature and shot volume capacity easily enough for lungo, allongé and even spro-overs. I see the appeal, even though it seems to have its share of drawbacks.

Wush Wush Conversation cont'd (aka Klatch "Super Wush")

I mentioned this in the previous thread, but I've got both Wush's - Klatch's "Super" and Roastmaster's "Refreshing." They're both excellent and plainly related coffees, but the Klatch is an uppercut, where the Roastmaster's is a jab. I get loads of wild tones in the Klatch version including watermelon candy (I heard someone call this note Kool-Aid, which kind of...

DIY Indian Pressure Cooker Espresso Machine

Am I missing something? Are they not just putting instant coffee powder into milk and frothing it? I don't see how that is an espresso machine in any way, it doesn't seem to actually make an espresso.

Simple 3D printed Niche Zero knocker

I did give it a check today. On four occasions I was able to get 0.3, 0.2, 0.9(!) and 0.1g out of the chute through knocking 3-4 times.

Are two grinders necessary?

Having 2 grinders is pretty handy if nothing else just to not have to drastically readjust when changing from espresso to brew. That said my second grinder is currently in my work office and I switch between espresso and brew as needed with my home grinder, a monolith flat, with the original burrs. Flat is a great espresso grinder and...

Are two grinders necessary?

I also think P64 with Multi Purpose can do both, just not as well as the P100 with its auto purge and flicking chute (the P64 packs some grinds in the chute) but I wouldn't recommend Multi Purpose for a stock Linea Mini, especially if one doesn't want to embrace a less traditional espresso brewing style. And in my experience...
