Espresso machine for pulling singles? 7g Italian style

{link} 120 V on a 230 V element is enough to keep the water hot. At 600 W on 230 V, a transformer is another option. Most of the Asian imports are wildly over-speced and aren't UL/ETL/CSA listed

1 hole versus 3/4 hole steam wand?

Yes! This is one reason I prefer rotary valves over joystick valves. After having had both, I like to be able to dial the steam back as I please. Ditto, for the hot water. Sometimes I just want it to dribble out, but joysticks tend to be full on or full off

ACS waiting times

Yes, safety lever ordered. Would happily abandon the safety at this point and become one of the "No problem if you use it properly..." people. If it's this hard to get right, it might be more trouble than it's worth down the road

ACS waiting times

Yes, ordered with safety option. In one of my email exchanges with Maria, she indicated they were working out some issue with it. But ours was still going to ship by Friday. Didn't specify the week

Espresso machine for pulling singles? 7g Italian style

Hi All! I'm new around here and hoping for some help on what machines to look at for the style of shots I'm looking to make. I have a fairly low tolerance for caffeine so for me having 1 double aka 18g dose is it for the day which is kind a bummer. Recently in Italy I had a

The Case Against Good Coffee

Well, I'd say that taste is individual. Everyone cares about some things and does not care about other things. That whole "no accounting for taste" thing. It's only elitism if you disrespect the people whose taste doesn't agree with yours. You can try to educate them but in the end there's no right or wrong, just

What will be the next big breakthrough in espresso?

I would say leave the AI/ML garbage out of the equation. I have always considered espresso to be like roasting in that it's 1/3 skill, 1/3 science and 1/3 art form. Trying to automate the process and remove the hands on skill then it becomes just another boring automated joke. Those that want to rely on AI might be brain
