Ikawa Home teardowns

What adventure! Thank you for the recommendation we definitely to dig more and try to find out what really causes CHIP(IRL6372) burn. I am expecting this will be a long process......, maybe, it is a good time to seek another roaster, any suggestion?

Bezzera BZ07 Brown Water?

Wow, that's really coloured! I don't know for sure why, but I have a theory. That machine is one of the few with a nickle plated copper boiler. My best guess is that the nickle plating has become compromised. I'd stop trying to descale it and live with the coloured water. I bet in time it will clear up. Copper

IKAWA Home - profiles

Th pro models take inlet temperature profiles. My go-to is such a one (from royal coffee). It generates a perfectly decreasing RoR which flattens out at about 4C/min near the end. I changed the fan speeds a bit to handle 80g loads, which is what I usually use. This is the Colombia Aguazul Pink Bourbon. {image} Matt

To pre flush or not- that is the question

I've tried pre-flushing to get the water in the boiler circulating, which in turn should make the internal water temperature more uniform - but the resulting oscillation in the PID was making things net worse. I've ultimately settled on just giving my GC 10-15 minutes to warm up and stabilize. Your PID setpoint is much lower
