Breville Dual Boiler Mods and Maintenance

Hi Peter, thanks for your reply. The corrosion on the triac board was on the copper tracks, where the conformal coating is lifting, and moisture clearly sat for a long time. The boiler bracket was also corroded (rusty), and the aluminium of the cup warmer panel had a little corrosion above the steamer. All pretty normal I would think for

My unibasket loves the spent puck. Quite hard to separate. Having a clip in place makes pounding it out quicker but compared to EP precision, ims and VST baskets I have used before, there's more work and time in that regard. Maybe it's the straighter walls that causes it

~$7k budget for grinder and espresso machine: La Marzocco Linea Micra + Zerno Z1? Monolith Flat?

Max2...looks the best out of all the grinders. All black is so clean. Dual burr grinder. Best tolerances. 98mm burrs. Checks all the boxes Espresso machine, there's also Sanremo you, but keeping things simple, ecm synch if you want manual old school fix it yourself OR decent for auto profile and tech. I think lm is over priced

Welcome. Didn't read your whole post yet. But something serious caught my eye... corrosion. Corrosion is different from limescale. Neither is good, but mild scale can be dealt with. Corrosion cannot be. In espresso machines, corrosion is most often caused by chlorides in the water. Note: chlorides are NOT chlorine, which is common in municipal water in developed countries. La
