Bambino Plus - loading coffee

Hi folks, Enjoying my new Bambino Plus, and getting good results, but ... I came from a Rancilio Silvia with 58mm bottomless portafilter. The BP's 54mm large single-wall basket (the 2-shot one) seems comfortably full at about 14g of ground coffee. 16g can be fitted in, but some of it will get there via the counter. 18g doesn't seem

Fellow Aiden anyone?

Yeah, that's one consideration, but I'd say the minor one. The major one is whether a v1 (even with quirks and downsides) is worth owning and using until a revision comes along.. even if you just end up throwing it away to buy a v2 (wasteful, yes) maybe $365 is worth it if it is, say, two years until the

Dry end time vs. Drying time

I determine "dry end" by visual inspection of the beans which is easiest to do by withdrawing them in the trier scoop every 10 to 15 seconds around the time when they seem to be approaching a tan color through the drum window

Dry end time vs. Drying time

Roy, Yes; I agree... The negative slope to TP is just the BT probe being cooled by the room temperature beans until it reaches an equilibrium of sorts... I guess another way of stating my conclusion would be that as soon as you charge and introduce the beans into a heated environment, the drying phase

Breville charcoal filters? And 54mm blind portafilter

Oh, yeah, my brain turned blind to bottomless. I didn't even notice. Blind actually means a PF basket with no holes. For back flushing your machine. Breville includes a funny rubber disk that fits in the single shot basket which does the same thing

Best grinder aesthetically for KDVW Speedster

They were out in the Ceado booth at SCA. That's the only grinder that's ever made me consider buying the show special on release because of the look. No knowledge and $6500 kind of got in the way

Breville Dual Boiler Mods and Maintenance

They were very weak and brittle with milky color. Neither came out in one piece! The change only takes less than a minute and pretty simple which makes it a no brainer compared to finding other workarounds. I think my problem was actually stemming from combination of pretty bad hard water, commercial heavy use and possibly descaling. I bought this

Fellow Aiden anyone?

Why don't they make with built-in grinder maybe much more interesting or too complicated/pricey?
