Moka pot question about the amount of coffee in the filter basket
I think your instincts are good, you want a certain bed depth to prevent channeling and underextrated flavors. This source says 1 - 2" is good. To much depth can lead to longer contact time and overextracted flavors. {link}

Moka pot questions.. brewing and filters
It's been a while since I came back to reply here because I've been trying different things and just generally busy. But what you said intrigued me, why are 12 cup moka pots different? Are they not just the same proportions of the smaller ones but bigger?

The roast date seems to be from December. {image} {image} {image} Definitely northern Italian, definitely chocolatey, and I'm definitely enjoying this in a cappuccino or as a

Some day you may be motivated to try brews from your 9-cup and 12-cup and compare them side-by-side. So many things are different between the two, there's no easy

SSP 98mm Lab Sweet User Experience
I like both HU and Mizen for espresso and I think Mizen is a good way to go if you want to tone things down a bit from HU. Mizen have a little more relaxed and rounded off presentation that still works great with lighter roast (I do nordic filter roast like Wendelboe 1:2.5 or a smidge shorter depending on

Moka pot question about the amount of coffee in the filter basket
I keep searching for this and see no definitive answer even from people on Youtube who otherwise go into very extensive detail about the process. So, if anyone knows: does a filter basket HAVE to be filled with coffee or can you put in less? We use a 12 cup filled about 2/3 - 3/4 of the way up the
