Loxeal 55-03
Hi-- I have what I hope is a quick question. I purchased a bottle of Loxeal 55-03 from Stefano's and have used it to secure fittings on a boiler. How long should I wait before I test the machine for leaks? Thanks!

La Marzocco Linea Micra
Circling back to my issue, today the technician visited and fixed the problem in 1 hour. The problem is due to loose connection in the check valve in photos. The technician dismantled the joint and tightened it again after securing it with a teflon band - the white part on top of the copper washer seen on pictures. There was

QuickMill Carola - Replacing steam valve question
I don't know your machine, but from QuickMill's site, it looks like a normal steam valve similar to what would be on normal HX and dual boiler machines, so I'm guessing that it has that sort of hemispherical compression fitting braized to the end of a copper tube, so no, don't put any stuff in the fitting. Just center

Moka pot question about the amount of coffee in the filter basket
I think your instincts are good, you want a certain bed depth to prevent channeling and underextrated flavors. This source says 1 - 2" is good. To much depth can lead to longer contact time and overextracted flavors. {link}

Moka pot questions.. brewing and filters
It's been a while since I came back to reply here because I've been trying different things and just generally busy. But what you said intrigued me, why are 12 cup moka pots different? Are they not just the same proportions of the smaller ones but bigger?

The hunt for best Italian roasted coffee beans
Current bag - La Genovese Caffé Royal I had ordered this from Espresso International...on impulse because they were out of Husbrandt and I needed to make the shipping cost worth while. The roast date seems to be from December. {image} {image} {image} Definitely northern Italian, definitely chocolatey, and I'm definitely enjoying this in a cappuccino or as a

Moka pot question about the amount of coffee in the filter basket
What specifically is different about the two? Are they not scaled versions of the same proportions?
