Bezzera Unica extracting too quickly

Is this a new-to-you setup? If you search on "channeling", you'll see the same top 3 possibilities: Coffee is stale, puck prep is off, or the grinder isn't up to the task. I've never used this grinder, but forum reports are mixed: "breville smart grinder for espresso".

Commandante vs Fellow Ode

For brewed coffee the 1-Zpresso JX is excellent and very reasonably priced. If you want to grind with smaller more precise steps to make espresso, the JX-Pro costs a bit more but works better for that purpose. Nothing wrong with the Commandante, but it costs a lot more (especially if you need to buy the add-on feature that allows more...

7 gram single shot?? Mission impossible!

Thanks! Is the newer one also called "LM1"? I haven't been able to find a basket with this name.

Commandante vs Fellow Ode

I don't own the Kalita, but I have a V60 and an Aeropress. Do you believe that a 12-13g dose can't be effectively ground using an Ode for my drip methods? Asked differently, what's the ideal brew method and dose for the Ode?

Bezzera Unica extracting too quickly

Hi, 14g basket and I put about 18g of coffee, tried also over 20g but same result. I have a breville smart grinder pro. I tried with different coffee bean but no changes. A pressure gauge to the group is showing over 10 bar (going over scale) is it normal, what should be the pressure to the group in E61...

Commandante vs Fellow Ode

Both are great choices imo. Only wish that the ode could grind a little bit finer for my purposes as I love to brew with small doses on a kalita and it's basically not possible to do 14-16g doses on the finest setting on an ode. In my part of the world, prices of both are not that far apart...

7 gram single shot?? Mission impossible!

Older on your left; newer on your right. The LM Strada basket and the VST-7 are like the older, but a bit more square {image} - from "What's the best single basket." LF LM clone and VST-7: {image}

7 gram single shot?? Mission impossible!

Thanks for the help! So I found these two baskets in my collection yesterday. Which one is the newer model? Is either of these the "LM1"? {image}

Odyssey Espresso (OE-1 Lever prototype)

Volume out depends on pre-infusion pressure due to compression of the air caught at the top of the group cylinder. A pump pre-infusion machine like the Londinium R or Strega running at 6 bar can pull bigger shots over a machine pre-infusing at line pressure at 3-4 bar like a Kees Idro, which in turn can make bigger shots than...

What exactly does a brew pressure gauge measure?

Really interesting. When mfgs lower the pressure, it's done by adjusting the OPV, right? And so also diverts part of the flow, I assume.
