Upgrade from Mini Vivaldi ii and Eureka Specialita

The 53 mm group will pull shots as well as a 58. The main advantage (?only advantage) of the 58 mm group is that there are more accessories that are available, e.g. tampers, funnels, etc. These days, however, you can get most things easily in a 53 mm. I'm guessing you already have the 53 mm stuff you need. Also,...

Does nickel leach from a nickel plated boiler?

You could always email the manufacturer. I've done that before and they've always answered.

Good grinder to pair with La Marzocco Linea Mini?

I honestly would prefer single dosing, I already have all the accessories needed for it but if I have to sacrifice this part for a profile that would fit me more, It wont kill me as for RPM, I honestly have no experience at all with this, so it's really not needed as for stepped or stepless, I won't be...

Duomo The Eight Review

BaristaBob, you and I are of the same mind. When it comes that Pullman/Asso style leveler/distributor, I've always been bothered that only a certain portion is getting distributed properly and rest is getting smushed down, in it's less-than-ideal condition. Your experiment confirms it, so hopefully the Kazak does alright.

How do you like your Baratza 270w upgrade?

I have the very similar 270Wi and I find the quality of coffee in the cup to be a clear upgrade from the Compak K-3 I owned before. You could say the advantage came from switching from flat to conical burrs, but I previously owned a conical Iberital Challenge grinder and didn't prefer it over the Compak. Also, I think...

Does nickel leach from a nickel plated boiler?

So the description of the Lelit Elizabeth says "Brew boiler: Nickel plated brass, 0.3L" - does that mean the outside is plated, the inside, or both? I guess I thought from the description the inside was plated with nickel.

Help Eureka Mignon Specialita issues

From what I've seen on Internet and my own Specialita, +1.5 from true zero for lighter coffee is perfectly normal. Having to grind right near touching point (for normal double shot, I assume) is abnormal. But the operative phrase here is "on my current beans". If this happens with only this coffee, maybe the coffee is stale or compromised in...

Need help with post-roast data

I just found out about the 50€ deal so I need to see if there is anything that I will do differently. But I put batch data like weight and volume in before and then post roast data in after. Then I run the analyzer and record all of that and more in a spreadsheet (I'm a spreadsheet geek from...

Does nickel leach from a nickel plated boiler?

The Elizabeth doesn't have any Nickel plated boilers (unless they just plated the inside of the brew boiler, which is highly unlikely, and pointless), just brass for the brew and steel for the steam boiler. Im not sure that many (if any modern machines made in the last 5 years use Nickel plated boilers any more). Be wary of the...
