What you want is properly extracted coffee. That means you'll have a certain percentage of the beans in your cup. The rest is water. So if you extract properly but have less total beverage volume than desired you can simply add hot water to achieve that volume. I meant that generic moka pot advice on the internet more often than not assumes a 3 or 4 cup pot. As for grind size, you need to dial in just like any brewing method. You can actually buy preground coffee specifically
