The steam boiler explodes (sometimes)
Okay, good, so the overpressure issue is due to overheating. Does the PID controller appear to be displaying a reasonable (believable) temperature? Ie, right before you hear the vacuum breaker his and close is the machine arriving at boiling temperature? Then, before the Safety Valve blows, is the boiler temperature higher than 140C (285F)? Does

Has my brew pressure gauge lost its mind?
Thanks, that is helpful to start tracking. I will throw a known good gauge on it first, I think I have some for air compressors. Then I will look at the other things. The gauge is plumbed immediately after the inlet valve

Need help restoring/repairing Cimbali Bistro (Early 90s version)
{video}Video pretty much explains it all. I turn on the machine, 2 coils get power on (they shouldnt be turning on), instantly opening up 2 valves. 1 reservoir over fills along with the boiler. Weirdly enough, the other reservoir does not overfill )valve doesnt open). Goal, need to make it stop and have it function like normal. It wasn't doing

Micra vs. Mini-R buying decision help
Hi all, First post in this sub. I am currently a BBP and a DF83 v2 owner. I owned the machine for just over 3 years and have been looking for an upgrade. I went to LM's headquarters in Seattle earlier and have tested both Micra and Mini-R in the showroom, still debating which machine I should get

The steam boiler explodes (sometimes)
Is your Tech at a lower elevation than you? That would explain the safety lifting at home but not the service shop. Verify that your electrical supply has a good ground and that the supply legs have the correct polarity if it's a 110 machine. Mechanical relay or solid state for the heating element?

Sealing boiler
Ah, thanks Jim. Permatex used to make an NSF high temperature (red) gasket maker that some of used on old Gaggias. The product no longer seems to carry the NSF designation. I'm not familiar with a substitution

Sealing boiler
Google Translate was no help: My heel or Gaggia - 1960/1970 - the boiler was used and beautifully made. The sealing of the cover was a ring of asbestos. It is broken in pieces and has never been used. Wil ik ook niet. My material is weak sealing material and this is the best way to use it. I
