I have questions on micro sieve baskets.

1. How are double layer micro sieve basket (pic attached) Are they better then normal baskets?

2. Is the inner filter sieve welded only on periphery from inside or it's fully welded surface to surface..? Can some one please share...

I've only picked up this hobby about 5 years ago so maybe I'm missing something but who's buying $175 conventional tampers when you can get really good leveling tampers for under $50.
