From Manual Roast to PID Roast

For what it's worth, I found setting Artisan alarms that trigger gas changes based on BT (with maybe one or two time based changes), to produce better curves than PID. I use PID for pre-heat and between batch, though.

Nuova Simonelli MDX Grinder Calibration

I recently bought a NS Mac 2000v and a Nuova Simonelli MDX grinder off marketplace and I recently had to take it apart due to pests. Now putting it apart I'm having trouble with the setting knob. Without the top burr installed I can freely adjust the bottom burr l, but once I attach the top burr I can no...

Rocket Giotto Premium Plus - Very long time before water comes out of grouphead

That certainly is a complete video, and it nicely covers the Rocket group (which is slightly different than CafeIke's pictured group.) In the video he soaks the whole mushroom and cap in a citric acid solution. That can damage the chrome if you were to mix the solution too strong or leave it in too long. It would be a...

G-IOTA / DF64 espresso grinder

This is also where I'm at having sold all my other electric grinders. IMO, it's the burrs that are the most important part of any grinder, so I can't currently justify spending 3-4X more than my DF64+MP just for better workflow and aesthetics with only a diminishing return in taste quality. I also expect grinders like the DF64 may create...

Rocket Giotto Premium Plus - Very long time before water comes out of grouphead

!! DO A COMPLETE DESCALE BEFORE REBUILD !! Get parts for the Rocket from a Rocket dealer. Generics don't always fit. Get some silicone lube and also replace the cam lever and its gaskets. Lube the cam face and do it every couple of months. Springs are optional, but since only a few extra shekels, I do it at each...

Rocket Giotto Premium Plus - Very long time before water comes out of grouphead

Replacing the valves should help that. The squeak is often from the valves being worn at a slight angle. New valves with a dab of molygrease on them shouldn't squeak at all.
