Understanding Brew Pressure, Flow, Valves, and "Slayer Shots"
Thanks. Wasn't aware that part of the water is actually being dumped during preinfusion, now I understand how this works thanks to your very nice description of the system in other post But I'm still not getting - isn't the gauge connected to brew chamber through the center of conical valve (not actually visible in that post, so I

Gaggia Classic pre-2008 intermittently losing power
Thanks kirby, I don't have a multimeter but that is a great suggestion so I will track one down and test. The connection with heating up the machine is why my mind went to fuse and thermostat first, but of course the multimeter would assist with isolating the exact source. Cheers!

ACS Vostok 1 group wear
David K, if you watch DaveC video and read his post, the implication is that if you are careless or don't control the lever properly once it passes the cam point it will bang down. Turning the pump on with the hot water switch (instead of a solid state relay on ito) could produce a minimally higher maximum pressure because a solid state relay drops 1.6V, but

ACS Vostok 1 group wear
I am genuinely confused. Are we saying, if you carefully lower the handle it always bumps against the group, which would suggest a design fault, or are we saying that in order to 'make' the two bump, you have to apply force, additional to that that is required?

Meaningful upgrade from Lelit Bianca V3
I think I'm between a Decent DE1XXL and a Linea Mini R. Noise, looks and "quality" is what is really bugging me about the Decent. Looking forward to Lance's take on the Mini R, hopefully it gets posted in due time

Zerno Z1 or Z2
I doubt it will, price alone and the cost to make such large 98mm burr work would put wast majority out as potential customers. Secondly many simple does not have the sort of counter space required for grinders taken up as much as small espresso machines. Most people are firmly locked under the 1k mark, likely that makes up more
