Count me a fan of Sant Eustachio. I always visit when in Rome.

I agree a trip to tazza di oro is worth it too since they are so close and we'll known, but it is not my preference.

Espresso in Italy is different, so grab the sugar  and don't compare apples to oranges. Besides, everything tastes better in Rome.

Judging on my experiences I think it's more what I expect from espresso...so maybe just right for me. Learning that I don't particularly like the tart side of the bean.

Does anyone have any experience with Sant' Eustaachio of Rome? I think they have a US distributor in LA.

Their site: https://www.santeustachioilcaffe.com/en/

Thx, Jeff

The "secret recipe" crema on their espresso has been a subject of coffee fora discussions for decades. Thanks to smart phone cameras, you can check it out for yourself. My reconstruction is a dab of zabbaglione, but there's lots of alternative suggestions.

Merged with thread on same subject from last month. There's also a few other threads that are older: Sant Eustachio.
