Put a spoon in the cup and it does not spill, or slosh over the edge.

Those model lab stills come up from time to time and look like they would be fun. Gaggia is basically an appliance company. Besides coffee equipment they also make blenders, toasters, vacuum cleaners, etc.

Just in case I didn't have enough espresso on the mind.

Between order and chaos there is espresso.

11 year old post (from 2006) on Coffeegeek got to the first page of Hacker News:

Brass and lead toxicity in midrange espresso machines (coffeegeek.com)

The discussion is good. It's also something which I'm interested in as I got an HX machine partly because the water goes pretty quickly through the copper parts of the machine (or so I think it might do, I'm not sure). I mean, it should, but does that really help or am I just imagining things?

Forget hand grinding. Bicycle grinding is where it's at.
Or foot grinding if you prefer.

And it costs almost $1000!

Is there even a chance the reviews are sincere?

Conan O'Brian filmed a short bit in Naples, getting espresso. Pretty funny. The coffee portion of the laughs ends around the 4 minute mark if you don't feel like watching the whole thing.

Renato Bialetti passed away last week at 93. You may recognize the name Bialetti when thinking of the distinctive 8-sided moka pot. Although Bialetti did not invent the moka pot he was it's largest promotor.

See below how he was laid to rest.

Edit: Renato Bialetti passed away in 2016, as Dan noted below.
