Happy New Year - Feliz Año Nuevo!

I will be in Mexico city for a few days in January and was wondering if any of you have had great espresso there.

All recommendations appreciated.

Thanks!

Definitely check out 'Mercado Roma' on 225 Calla Querétaro near the Art Deco district.
It's a very cool place where a lot of hip people hang out. The best coffee place is just inside the entrance to your extreme right as you enter. You can easily spend a couple of hours checking the place out and people watching.

Google it; check out the pics on 'Trip Advisor' & scroll through the pics!

Another nice place we ate at is Volador Café, Av. Michoacan 43 in the Art Deco district.

First espresso of the day today was at chiquitito. Right around the corner from my hotel. Saw something about it in sprudge. Tiny, cute but just ok. I do love those Acme cups though.

I saw this at Chapultepec castle.
Looks like some sort of brewing device.

On my way to Buna 42 (next post) I noticed this random tree on the street:

Too bad none of the cherries were ripe

Buna 42

I went for the espresso and it was great. I will add that they serve food there too. I'm not posting pics of the food because that would be off topic but it was amazing. This is a great cafe with an ultra-hip vibe that delivers in all areas.

Highly recommended.

To sum up my trip to Mexico City I also went to the following places (only mentioning the good ones)

El Pendulo: coffee/books/music and other random things for sale here. Funky cool place that is worth the trip for an espresso.

Cafe Negro: not much from the outside of the inside for that matter but they have vacuum pots and aeropresses so they are serious about their coffee and the espresso was very good but their baked goods were really nice.

Best for last...stumbled across la dosis after dinner. I don't drink coffee after 5pm so 930 is really pushing it but hey, you only live once. Glad I made the exception. Best shot of the whole trip.
